Frequently Asked Questions

About the Alliance

One Orange Alliance is the official third-party NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) collective supporting Syracuse University Athletics. Operating as a marketing agency, the Alliance connects fans, local businesses, and national corporate partners with Syracuse student-athletes to create meaningful NIL opportunities across every Orange program. One team. One goal. One Orange.

College athletics has entered a new era — one where community and business support play a direct role in a program’s ability to compete and win. By unifying third-party NIL efforts for all Syracuse sports under a single organization, the Alliance gives every Orange team the full backing of Orange Nation while making it simple for supporters to get involved.

The Alliance builds on the foundation of SU Football NIL, which has supported Syracuse Football student-athletes since fall 2023. In April 2026, that effort was rebranded and expanded as One Orange Alliance to serve student-athletes in every Syracuse varsity sport.

One Orange Alliance is led by President Colby Clark, a longtime member of the Central New York business community. The Alliance operates as a third-party organization in partnership with Syracuse University Athletics.

One Orange Alliance supports all of Syracuse’s athletics. Contributions and partnerships through One Orange Alliance benefit student-athletes across every Syracuse varsity program — football, men’s and women’s basketball, lacrosse, soccer, rowing, softball, volleyball, field hockey, ice hockey, tennis, track and field, cross country, and more.

Corporate partners can collaborate with student-athletes on marketing, branding, and business initiatives designed to deliver measurable value and return on investment.

Syracuse student-athletes are available for event appearances, social and traditional media partnerships, advertising campaigns, and other appropriate marketing activities. Partnerships are built to create authentic brand alignment, audience engagement, and real results for your business.

Revenue Sharing and NIL

Revenue sharing is when Syracuse Athletics uses department resources to provide funds directly to student-athletes. This support is coordinated by the athletic department and goes to multiple teams.

Student-athletes can monetize their NIL from outside businesses for things like ads, public appearances, social media or any relevant activity related to marketing or advertising with their NIL. These deals are made directly with the student-athlete, not the athletic department.

Revenue sharing comes from Syracuse Athletics resources. NIL comes from outside sources, such as businesses or individuals’ funds. They are separate and work in different ways.

Yes. Student-athletes may receive support from the athletic department through revenue sharing and earn money through NIL deals at the same time.

Yes. Revenue sharing is subject to a spending cap established through the House v. NCAA settlement, which limits how much each school can share each year. For the 2025–26 academic year, participating schools may distribute up to $20.5 million per institution, and Syracuse shares at the maximum level allowable by that settlement.

No. Money from NIL deals does not count toward the revenue-sharing cap because it comes from outside the athletic department.

Fans can support Syracuse Athletics revenue sharing. Donations to the ‘Cuse Athletic Fund offer tax-deductible options that support Syracuse Athletics programs and its student-athletes.
